Meditation for Beginners: Start Today
Meditation isn't about emptying your mind. It's about training it to focus. Here's how to start.
Why Meditate?
- Reduces stress and anxiety
- Improves focus and concentration
- Better sleep quality
- Emotional resilience
- Self-awareness
How to Start
1. Find Your Spot
Quiet, comfortable, free from distractions. A chair or floor works fine.
2. Set a Timer
Start with just 5 minutes. Work up to 10-20 minutes. Don't overcommit early.
3. Focus on Your Breath
Breathe naturally. Notice the sensation of air moving in and out. When your mind wanders (and it will), gently bring it back to your breath.
4. Don't Judge
Thoughts will come. That's normal. The "training" is noticing them and returning to the breath.
